      A great, but sometimes frustrating place to work

      Pros

      Great people, very good benefits, company looks out for its people, relatively relaxed and friendly atmosphere (depending on which area you are in). Very high on values, integrity and doing the right thing. Strong financials and a great vision for the future.

      Cons

      The culture is very averse to change, and management seems to have little trust of their people, they have to be deeply involved (i.e. micro-manage) on most decisions. Management can't seem to make decisions quickly, and when they do, they tend to go back and revisit those decisions.

      Great start

      Pros

      Good starting platform Learned a lot about investment industry Fun environment - plenty of parties, Halloween competition, sports leagues (beach volleyball was so fun)

      Cons

      Accounting managers mostly come from their auditors, Deloitte, so don't have any aspirations of getting promoted to management from within. Had one bad experience with a VP who wouldn't let me speak to explain a misunderstanding. Literally said to me when I opened my mouth, "this isn't a time for rebuttal." If this is your first job, stay no longer than 5 years. It's fun but you will progress your career if you gain the experience then leave.

      Pros

      Good benefits and steady paycheck. The Good Guys is a great program.

      Cons

      It is who you know not what you know that get promotion. Some supervisors do not understand the works. Many slackers are in supervisor position. Employees are punished for speaking up.
