Pros

unique CEO (typical 90's CEO.... has a comforting presence and schedules lunches with low level analysts on random basis)... great guy. Pay is good and competitive actuarial study program. Location is a plus.

Cons

Low expectations -- work given to entry level analysts is not challenging. Lots of long term employees (might be a pro) and too many new analysts (i.e. manager/analyst ratio is too small so it is difficult to get promoted).

Growth over time requires refocus and innovation

Pros

Work/life balance. Mutual respect between me and my management but note here that each area varies in that regard. The company is so large, this can't be a blanket summary for all.

Cons

Growth over the years has seen influx in PMO/ "project specialists" who now wield more power than financial and product specialists. I feel this is hurting the direction of PL for the future. Stakeholders who have hands-on opinion and advice are being left out of key decisions and innovation that is instead being driven by process pushers with no real-life experience.
