Pros

Work on challenging problems with smart people from different backgrounds and cultures, for a good mission, using modern tools and technologies. A lot of freedom and flexibility. Great work environment (amazing offices on the quiet Roosevelt Island with a great view on Manhattan, delicious food catered every day).

Cons

As in most small companies, you have to juggle with many priorities at the same time, but that also makes working here challenging, interesting and fun!

Pros

PAIGE is trying to revolutionize how pathology is practiced, which could save lives by leading to better cancer diagnoses. We do this using artificial intelligence. I'm proud that I get to talk about the work we do, rather than if I worked at a place like Facebook or Google where my work could be leveraged to data mine people to give them more advertisements or to keep them from leaving the platform. I feel like the work we are doing could really help the world. We get to work on hard problems that matter. Everybody has a great attitude and the company has a lot of potential.

Cons

Like most start-ups and tech companies that have opened in the past 20 years, PAIGE has an open office. They do give every employee noise cancelling headphones and the view of Manhattan from the office is spectacular, but it can still be distracting sometimes due to aural or visual noise.

Pros

- Strong, meaningful mission. - A nice combination of highly specialized, seasoned experts and recent graduates, all full of interesting ideas and passionate about the Paige mission. - Respectful, caring culture. - Well funded, meaning you get the tools you need. Including a powerful compute cluster for the AI component.

Cons

- If you don't like wearing lots of hats and setting up new systems, a startup culture is not for you (this is a startup company). I love being involved in so many different things and having a part to play in the fundamental setup of a new company, so not a problem for me. - Workloads can feel overwhelming at times. Everyone understands this and again it's just all part of being in a startup.
