Pros

A very agile and action oriented environment. FDEs are encouraged to find a need in the project and develop their own slice of it. Resourcing respond to this by moving you to other projects that can best make use of the spike you've demonstrated in the process. You can quickly build on Foundry. Tackling technical problems at a high level means you get a huge amount of exposure to different problem spaces.

Cons

It can be a very sink or swim environment. It's also not as technical as your usual software engineering roles as you're generally building on top of Foundry (already a well built out platform). Depending on your project, you can be frequently working long hours.

Pros

Palantir has a good brand and can beef up your resume if you need it. If you've already worked at FAANG, it won't be helpful.

Cons

The forward deployed role is moving to be like the solutions architect, where no building is done, and you just point customers to existing SaaS products. As a result, the pay for the role is going down and so are the caliber of people doing it. If you're a builder, don't bother. If you just like pointing customers at docs for low pay, it might be for you.
