Pros

The working environment is pleasant which has much to do with the people who work there. The facilities are generally good: there is a Sports Hall, gymnasium, bar, and restaurant.

Cons

There is no recognisable promotional structure. What you are you will be for years unless you play golf with the management. You can wait a long time for a promotional pay rise, and in many instances, it's a case of dead man's shoes..

Pros

Large corporation and stable and profitable during the current economic downturn we are experiencing. Since it is a niche market that we cater to, and since we do own such a large marketshare of the industry 60%+, I feel comfortable knowing that we will not be bought out/taken over anytime soon in this day and age where mergers are so prevalent.

Cons

Very focused field of business, and since its so focused, a radical change in technology or the way people travel can adversely affect entire business. The people in general are pretty good, but a lack of communication and bonding between employees which makes one feel like just another cogwheel seems to proliferate.

Some of the products are good but by and large the accountants have run this former technology powerhouse into the ground. Read the WSJ and see for yourself.

Cons

This is a company run by a madman who sets employees off against each other. No one in the company knows what is really important. Morale is very low. This is the GM of Japan and headed down the same road.
