Utterly Toxic Environmental Management

Pros

Staff and managers from a variety of disciplines are genuinely great to work with and the overall office culture is positive. PD is a regional powerhouse in San Antonio (and growing), so many great projects are there for you to gain experience.

Cons

The environmental team is functionally led by one person who is by far the most toxic and manipulative individual I have interacted with in my professional career. She will provide you no guidance or training, set up meetings specifically to ridicule other employees or discuss her personal life, override your reports to create a more favorable outcome for engineers, and systematically undercut your ability to grow in the environmental industry. She self-describes as "untouchable" and went so far as to suggest any interaction with HR would lead to termination. She also has a background of illegally clearing projects (just Google her name) and you will see this happen on projects you work on.

We welcome employee feedback, and encourage employees to speak with their managers, senior leaders, and Human Resources if there are ever issues or concerns they are experiencing. This in turn allows us the opportunity to be aware of, and address as appropriate, situations that may create a less than favorable experience for our employees during their employment. We make continuous efforts to ensure Pape-Dawson is a great place to work, and feedback from employees helps us accomplish that goal.

Pros

They have really great benefits, the customer level is amazing, had a great experience on the customer side, everyone is in good spirits. Loved the perks they had to support employees. Amazing family oriented business.

Cons

The IT support team was not team oriented. :(

Not a huge fan of overtime but I understand why they do it - to avoid layoffs
