      My position offers a lot of flexibility and I have a great supervisor.

      The company certainly doesn't care about me. The benefits are terrible and there is no job security.

      Experience in dog years - for better and for worse

      Pros

      Working at MTV is like earning experience in dog years - and not just because they work you like a dog. You really get put out there, sink or swim often times, and that experience within a major media conglomerate such as VIACOM will serve you well in your next career moves. On a whole, the people here are amazing personally, very talented professionally. MTVN seemed to really worked to hire robust groups of talent internally as opposed to outsourcing. A lot of partying. whoo-hoo.

      Cons

      Under compensation. Look, while I don't have proof, I'm nearly certain that there is an HR formula that lobs off around 15% salary for Director and below. You have to be able to balance the experience, with the lack of $$$...

      Fun Company, Flexible Work/Life, But for Low Pay

      Pros

      Great content, flexible dress code, summer hours. It can be a fun environment since MTVN is in the building, and there is a good buzz because of that.

      Cons

      Systems are a mess (accounting, IT, food service, Travel, etc.). Salaries are well below metropolitan salaries and livable wages. Also, our location puts you in Times Square, which can at times be exciting, but can also create problems when commuting or just needing to find a good, inexpensive meal quickly.
