Pros

I echo the other reviews: really awesome structure for the company in general. Love the transparent pay, transparent review system, and attainable promotions. I've worked here 5 years and have gone from $70k to $150k. Throughout my employment, I've made a lot of friends both coworker and client. I've never felt like I've been treated unfairly. In fact, sometimes I feel guilty because I feel like the company is being a little TOO empathetic towards my needs.

Cons

Some projects can be a little mind-numbing. This is to be expected for any consultancy though, and Pariveda does a better job than most to find interesting work. Also some of the policies are a little old-fashioned for a tech firm (big emphasis on "butt-in-seat" hours, dress code, etc. Pay is also based out of Dallas with some small bumps for more expensive markets, so if you work in NYC, DC, SF, etc expect to be paid a little less than you would at a competitor in the same area. Overall the pros WAY outweigh the cons.

Pros

Lots of opportunity for growth Clear framework to guide you as you work towards promotions Challenging job that keeps me interested and busy Great benefits (Cell Phone, 401k matching, Great pay, health plan with employer contributions) Very fun people to work with Good hours (Most of the time, there are certain times when we are required to work extra if a deadline is coming up, but thats basically any job these days)

Cons

Certain clients can be less exciting or fun than other clients Sometimes it is hard to rotate off a "less exciting" client

Pros

Pariveda is as employee centric of a firm as you will find. The company structure was clearly well thought out from the beginning, with the extremely clear career path and expectations framework. If you have the capability and desire to grow into a well-rounded consultant while not sacrificing your technical skills, then this is the place for you. Pariveda helps their people grow quickly through the technical lead and manager ranks by focusing mostly on small team projects to ensure a variety of experience (industry, technology, teammates, etc.) to maximize on the job learning opportunities. Because the company trusts its people to be able to learn technical details quickly, most of the training you will get internally is geared towards giving you frameworks to organize your thinking and actions about topics such as small team leadership, project management, client relationship management, developing new skills, etc. Also, as you grow quickly, you'll be getting a 10% or 20% raise every year (14 or 24% when they do a cost of living adjustment), with a (relatively small) company contribution to your Employee Stock Ownership Plan as a bonus.

Cons

They expect a lot from you, especially as you move through the manager and principal ranks, requiring you to learn and become proficient in several new sets of skills (project management, team leadership, mentoring, executive presence, etc.) over a couple of years. This means that you will likely have to put in time above your traditional 9-5 to manage your workload. It's not a 70 hour work week, but 45-50 is expected and normal. Starting with the Manager to Principal promotion, you are required to complete a "Point of View" presentation, which is sort of like a Master's Thesis. This is in addition to your normal responsibilities of leading an important client project (and for many people raising young children). This has definitely become a choke point in the growth path. Also, like all consulting work, your experience may very based on the project you are assigned to. Because of the local model, some clients may be in the "same city" as you but actually be an hour or more from where you live.
