Pros

Great initial training program, great way to get your foot in the payroll industry, relaxed management. no micromanagement. Variety of clients were fun to interact with and assist on a daily basis. You get to learn about all types of industries and how they do payroll, from restaurants, to factories, to hospitals, to government entities.

Cons

Supervisors don't know the job as well as they should. You are expected to be a tax advisor, legal advisor, HR advisor, IT advisor, and general grunt worker for the clients with zero extra compensation for the amount or quality of work that you perform. This is a great job for a lazy "just make it through the day" type employee. Anyone who goes above and beyond on a regular basis should look for satisfaction elswhere. It was hard to find a "win" on a daily basis or feel that you were making an important impact.

Pros

Worked with Paychex for over 8 years. The company was very good to work for under Marty. Once John Gibson took over, that all took a change. Maybe the PTO. Some benefits.

Cons

- Took away company picnic/holiday luncheons - Favoritism runs deep in the company - Raises/bonuses taken away - bonuses taken away from certain employee's in 2024. - senior employee's making less than new employee's - SERVICE leadership is bad - Turnover - Senior leadership - CEO

Pros

Good coworkers mostly, work from home options, good work/ life balance.

Cons

The company has gone completely downhill. It seems the ultimate goal at this point is to get rid of the American workforce and outsource to other countries. I have no faith or trust in the company because everything is done behind your back. If you live in India, you might as well apply because they are taking over every department. They are sinking ship. Raises and bonuses are almost nonexistent at this point.
