Pros

I’m thrilled to celebrate a significant milestone with Paylocity and wanted to take a moment to share my experience. PCTY has been a place of growth, challenge, and recognition. From day one, I’ve felt supported by leadership, empowered in my role, and motivated by the collaborative culture we’ve cultivated. It’s clear that hard work and dedication are not only recognized but truly rewarded here. What stands out the most to me is how the company invests in its people. There are continuous learning opportunities, and I’ve seen firsthand how employees are encouraged to innovate and grow. Whether it's through training programs, mentorship, or clear career advancement paths, Paylocity ensures that we have everything we need to succeed. As we continue to grow, the development opportunities within the company have become even more apparent. I’m excited to be a part of such an inspiring team and look forward to many more successes ahead. If you’re looking for a place where you can thrive, contribute, and truly make an impact, this is it. This company values people and their contributions, and I'm proud to be part of this incredible journey. It’s amazing to see the recognition we receive for our efforts and to know that growth is a priority here—for both the business and the employees. I'd highly recommend Paylocity to anyone looking to grow their career and join a company that genuinely cares about their people!

Cons

As the company is rapidly growing, there’s often a lot of change to keep track of. While these changes are ultimately positive, driving both individual and business growth, it can be challenging to maintain streamlined processes and ensure they remain up-to-date during times of transition.

Pros

- A lot of individual contributors are talented and hardworking. The peer relationships are strong. - Remote work flexibility (though leadership makes it difficult to truly unplug). - You’ll learn a lot because there’s a severe lack of resources, forcing employees to take on multiple roles without proper support.

Cons

I would not recommend working at Paylocity. The experience of many that leave can be defined by toxic leadership, a lack of accountability, and a company culture that prioritizes optics over real employee well-being. Senior leadership is reactive, plays favorites, and lacks the ability to make strategic decisions. There is a culture of micromanagement and shifting blame rather than true problem-solving. Decisions are made behind closed doors, and employees are often left scrambling when leadership changes direction without notice. The company expects employees to do more with fewer resources, leading to constant stress and no work-life balance. There is no real strategy for workforce planning. HR/TA leadership ignores expert recommendations, leading to inefficiencies, compliance risks, and a frustrating experience for employees. Paylocity claims to champion diversity, equity, and inclusion, but in reality, they only support employees who conform to their toxic, insular culture. Those who challenge the status quo, advocate for change, or come from diverse backgrounds often face resistance, exclusion, and even retaliation. Leadership plays favorites, and career growth is based on likability, not merit. The company markets itself as an inclusive employer, but the reality is very different. There is little to no real support for underrepresented employees, and any efforts towards DEI feel performative rather than meaningful. Paylocity is framing a reduction in force as “performance issues” to avoid accountability. Employees who have been dedicated and high-performing are suddenly being told they are not meeting expectations, conveniently before job cuts. This creates a culture of fear and uncertainty, with no clear guidance or fairness in the process.
