Thank you! One of our most important cultural values is that of creating an entrepreneurial environment where employees are empowered with the autonomy to perform their roles. We’re thrilled to see that this has been your experience.

Pros

Opportunity for growth in other departments.

Cons

No work/life balance. Constantly rotating schedule hours. You may close end at 5pm or 12am. Horrible communication between departments and within departments. No internal phone lines. Subpar benefits. PTO is not competitive. Payment service is not very user friendly. Constant issues and unfinished updates roll out with no notice causing exponential increase in calls and no resolutions. Not enough staff to handle the call flow. They increase clients using the service, but not the amount of customer service staff. When asking for support from lead staff, rarely do you get a resolution for the customer. Most of the time they just have to call back until they can pay. Expect a lot of angry and confused customers. There is a huge disconnect between the clients and their customers. The customers do not understand we are not their providers. And it causes a lot of calls with rude and angry customers. Prob 30-40% of your calls.

Pros

The products solve real world problems. This job is a great for resume experience. Put in your 12- 18 months and move on.

Cons

I left a comfortable six-figure a year SaaS sales job to join Paymentus to double and triple my income. However, management kept changing the direction of where to go with the wind, and I quickly realized only the favorites in sales would have a future here. New sales hires in my group were told that we would receive leads to work which never happened. Marketing was useless in helping sales. Some salespeople did little to nothing and were quickly promoted. Meanwhile, other salespeople who wanted to try new ideas were heavily micromanaged and fired quickly. To better understand why this is, you have sales managers in place that were individual contributors in the 1990s, and they expect you to follow the sales playbook that worked for them which is largely obsolete today. You're provided with a phone and told to start cold-calling, never mind building relationships with partners or consultants. If you wanted additional sales tools, you had to pay for them yourself. That's why most salespeople I worked with kept their heads down and never questioned anything sales management didn't want to hear for fear of being fired.
