Pros

As compared to other educational publishers, Pearson is a great place to work. It's a huge corporate environment, but so are all the others. People tend to get a job here and stay here for their entire careers, thus jobs don't open up very often unless they're newly-created.

Cons

There's definitely a good-ol' boy network and some of the choice upper level jobs are given to insiders without having been posted. And there are some of these good-ol' boys who get and keep these executive-level jobs, regardless of their competency. Opportunity for advancement, once you reach an upper management level, is scarce.

Cons

As with any company sometimes there are company politics at hand The large divisions do not communicate with each other - it is as if they are different companies altogether
