Pros

Seeing babies in their first few days of life.

Cons

Let's see. Where do I begin? I'm not writing a negative review out of the spirit of being nasty. I just want other people to be warned before they take a job here. Honestly, this was the worst job I've ever had. You're better off working at McDonalds. They pay you 12 dollars an hour so screen babies, but they don't tell you that your "part-time casual" (should be less than five hours a day) can have you there for up to 12 hours each day. This is unethical and unfair. I told my boss that I would work on the 4th of July but since she had no one come in the day before (to have the day off) I was stuck working a 12 hour shift. Nurses were literally running down the halls looking for me to screen babies whose families were being discharged that day. Being on your feet for 12 hours, running in and out of rooms, screening babies and trying to talk to parents and nurses, as well as charting their information is just too much. (at least for 12 dollars an hour) Also, let me explain the training I got. I was forced to wait 2.5 hours for an employee to show up and train me one day. No one seemed concerned about this. When I had had enough and was quitting, I reached out to my manager and the only response I got was "ok, send this in an email so I can send it to HR." And HR? I asked to be called so I could discuss this on the phone. Did I hear from them? No. This is why I'm writing the review here. It's unfair. This outfit has the potential to do so much good, it is an absolute SHAME that they cannot run their company efficiently.

Pros

Decent Pay and flex schedule

Cons

Management isn't honest. Members of staff aren't promoted from inside. If you are a team lead you can't move up to a supervisor or Manager. Attendance policy leaves no room to balance family and work. Everything is an occurrence. Staff are held to the same standards from one locations to another. Benefits are expensive compared to other companies.
