Pros

I can't speak to all the changes since, but at the time, PRH was the best workplace I'd ever been at, and I only left for a better paying opportunity as no one gets into publishing for the paycheck. I worked with amazing individuals who were so supportive and passionate about what they did. There was no shortage of opportunities there, and I learned alot in my time and had fun along the way. Really great perks and benefits made up for the low pay.

Cons

Sometimes the "we're a family" mentality got in the way of productivity and could lead to favoritism among some people.

Pros

If you dream of working in editorial, then there's no better place to get a start. Your experience is completely dependent on your managers/what books they edit and how invested they are in your career.

Cons

Everyone in publishing is underpaid and promotions in editorial are especially tricky.
