Pros

There was a rich sense of community prior to the pandemic, but that virtually no longer exists post-pandemic.

Cons

Low salaries. Minimal growth opportunities.

Pros

Good time off, can be flexible about location post-pandemic, management seems to really care about employee wellbeing, working on some of the biggest books in the industry

Cons

Pay is not high (true for the publishing world in general), workload is considerable

Pros

Communication from senior management is frequent and relevant, everyone has been highly supportive of employee needs during the pandemic, benefits are incredible

Cons

There is little to no room for growth, younger employees are constantly told how their current salaries are high compared to when older employees started in the 80’s or 90’s, you will not get a promotion unless someone quits or dies and even then they will try to make you take on that person’s responsibilities without commensurate pay or title, managers openly tell you that the only way to get a raise is to get a competing offer
