Pros

It is a fairly small company, and the feeling at the HQ was very friendly. They worked at making employees feel appreciated. They were open to being more progressive in processes. Decent cafeteria.

Cons

They provided too much candy and other sweets, which was not good for employees' health. Other than that, many more positives than negatives.

IT, at least, has moved to Agile development practices Newer technologies have gotten a solid foothold in the past couple of years Generally nice people to work with

Mainframes Still much legacy code that needs to be replaced with modern applications. Apps from 2003 still in use, for example The company has not figured out how to manage people in an Agile environment Still mostly impossible to get fired - even if you are a developer and couldn't code your way out of a paper bag

It's a positive that most communication is either done via email or over the phone. Laid back environment.

Cons

As a field office, we feed cases and paperwork to our Home Office electronically. We had a system overhaul a about a year ago and everything has slowed at Home Office tremendously. Which causes the advisors to lose confidence is us as a company or consistently request that things are expedited.
