Pros

Great professional development opportunities, competitive pay and benefits, robust advancement paths.

Cons

Over my 10-year career at Penn State, it simply outgrew itself, and made several attempts toward correcting issues ranging from classroom and space shortages to inadequate system and software overhauls. After decades of allowing each College and Department to operate along relatively loose universal policies and guidelines, Penn State started its transition to centralized units and global policy and procedure, and overhauled the three main enterprise systems (academic/data mainframe, Human Resources, and finance/business mainframe) very hastily, and therefore, very poorly. As Penn State continues to grow and acclimate to its transitions, my hope is that leadership will learn to make sure the right people are in the room when making massive organizational changes.
