The management was bad for my health.

Pros

Co-workers were fantastic. Creative projects. A willingness to hear you out on ideas and sometimes give you a shot at implementing them. Since the Sandusky scandal, things have been slowly improving.

Cons

Poor pay compared to industry standards; many employees didn't even earn a living wage for the region. Class divisions between management and workers; I often felt like I was being treated like a second-class citizen. Abuse of 'part-time' employees, who often worked 40 hours per week doing the same work as their 'full-time' peers with no benefits and lower wage. Toxic management environment. To put it bluntly, I was less shocked than I should have been by the Sandusky scandal.

Pros

Penn State has a Great Benefit Package! and there is the ability to have a decent balance between work and life.

Cons

Fixed salaries is a big negative and there is hardly ever room for a salary increase. Having a good boss will definitely help you in the long run.
