Pros

Good pay with lots of learning and work-life balance and reasonable everything. Penn State offers strong networking opportunities, experienced faculty, and cutting-edge research, especially in AI and cybersecurity fields.

Cons

Less pay and not so good flexibility to choose from projects. Class sizes can be large, and the curriculum may sometimes focus more on theory than hands-on, practical experience.

Pros

It is great to be able to pursue your own line of research and gain teaching experience on the side. My lab is really focused on cutting edge innovations in the field of Genetic Epidemiology and I love publishing, presenting, and grant writing.

Cons

Pay is less than ideal
