The only reason people get jobs is so they can support themselves financially. This can be hard to do at Peoples. You start out at $10.50/ per hour as a "Personal Banker", but in reality you are a Teller. Annual raises can maybe get you an extra .30/ hr.
They always tell you at your initial interview that there is room for growth and opportunity to advance, but what does that mean? Well, on the retail side there are 3 positions. Personal Banker 1(Teller), Personal Banker 2(teller + account opening role) and then the management position (store manager/assistant manager). Which sounds okay at first but you don't actually get a raise from PB1 to PB2. Supposedly you get a .50/hr raise when you become a PB2 but i never saw that happen while i was employed. Even if it did it wouldn't be comparable to an account opening role at other banks..
