Poor Systems, Overworked Administrators

Pros

In fairness, PepsiCo Dubai has a good work atmosphere. They encourage work-life balance and all the many good things an employer wants for their employees.

Cons

The thing that shocked me the most is the ratio of Administrative Assistants towards the Managers they assist. 1 Administrative Assistant might assist from 7 - 12 Managers! In addition, the Human Resources Department does not handle leave for their employees. Administrative Assistants monitor and keep track of their Managers leave on top of the many things they do. There is no leave request form.

HR sometimes gets in the way of development with strict rules and month long periods of recruitment that tend to be a burden on the rest of the team.

Challenging fast changing environment, people are smart and responsive, level of freedom and responsibility is high, work-life balance in term of flexible time and working from home, huge amount of activities and projects running in parallel

Cons

Tools and materials aspect need to be reviewed (It took 3 weeks to get necessary system accesses and laptop), knowledge management and sustainability within the organisation need to be improved
