Pros

-Warm and eager welcome -Mostly consistent schedule -Fair amount of job security

Cons

-Interdepartmental hostility and blame -Once leadership decides they don’t like you, HR bands together with them in a concentrated attempt to take you out -Suggestions for growth can get you in a great deal of trouble, especially when they say it won’t -Other employees are terrified to speak up -Blatant racism: nearly outright refusal to advance people of color -Absolutely no neurodivergence or sensitivity training -Fired for neurodivergence -Mediocre pay that management insists you be grateful for -College degree over experience. Without a college degree, very little opportunity for upward mobility. -No accountability for cruelty from managerial staff, even proven and overt -Strong aversion to remote workers and moves towards innovation

Pros

None that come to mind

Cons

I had a phone screen with Shelley Bennett for the Assistant Marketing Manager position and was initially excited about the opportunity at Perdue Farms. However, that enthusiasm quickly turned to frustration. After our call, I followed up multiple times via email to express continued interest and request next steps or feedback and was completely ignored for several weeks. Being ghosted after an interview, especially after investing time and effort into the process, is not only unprofessional but also incredibly disrespectful. Shelley Bennett never responded, not even a simple “no longer moving forward.” This kind of behavior reflects poorly not just on her but on Perdue Farms as a whole.

Corporate is lacking Diversity

Pros

The location is one of the company’s strongest assets, especially for those from diverse backgrounds. In my experience, the people you work with are generally respectful and supportive the real challenges tend to come from upper management, not your peers

Cons

While corporate is gradually becoming more inclusive, progress for individuals from diverse backgrounds remains slow and uneven. Meaningful change is underway but it’s not happening fast enough.
