The tragedy of a family owned business

Pros

Company culture is generally good, except for headoffice (Lainate and Amsterdam). There are still some good people around.

Cons

Family decides every little detail about products for most of the markets without having any business sense, market insight, internal alignment and consistency. Very, very frustrating. It is a nightmare (and graveyard) for professional marketeers, product developers and general managers. No appreciation for different opinions and approaches. What results is a group of paralyzed people loyal to the family following and executing their ideas and opinions.
