Pros

The people you work with are great. Doing everything they can to assist with no technology,lay-off every year, and understaffed. If you have a choice don’t work for operations.

Cons

Upper/ Senior Management, insurance and benefit costs, no time off absolutely no work life balance. Sr Management in Waltham is the worst totally disconnected from the business and the people.

Pros

Friendly co-workers. Nice facilities in Waltham The chance that, someday, if they figure it out... it could be great. Some aspects of their business strategy work and it will keep you employed for awhile.

Cons

They have not figured it out yet. Revolving door - great job security for HR.

An Informatics perspective

Business Outlook

Pros

Strong product offering, top notch support and customer commitment by the field teams. Deep industry partnerships (e.g Tibco) and collaborative strategy. Many outstanding teams and people with valuable domain experience.

Cons

Outrageous turnover across critical departments. Lack of successful new product development and next generation technology. No clear informatics vision to the market. Instruments leadership owns decisions for software investments when they have little domain experience. Declining market position and revenue of legacy technologies is alarming. Divesting of several previously acquired software companies tell the story. When customers seek information on Informatics, the original Cambridgesoft website is still running as the primary source, the acquisition was 6 years ago...
