      Not as solid as it used to be

      Pros

      Great PKI people, innovative scientists and marketing people who listen.

      Cons

      After aquisition of Caliper in Nov.2011 management went into "CYA" mode, and even now, a year later, many of us are even more unsure of our future or our direction. Many of us lost products to other divisions and we have shrinking bags of products to sell to our customers and less support. Many look at a large company like PerkinElmer as a solid place to land. I am not so sure anymore.

      Pros

      Fairly solid company. Many intelligent engineers and some really great employees. Commitment to education is admirable. Great field service team. Warm and friendly working environment.

      Cons

      Lot's of red tape make getting things done that much harder. Very little innovation despite marketing claims.

      Pros

      Interesting products, smart people, good locations, good benefits, good salary. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the people I worked with as well as the products. Very good training.

      Cons

      They constantly realign people and departments often forcing people into jobs they don't want to be in. When they change managers the new manager feels the need to make a change just for the sake of it
