Pros
PetSmart is great to work for due to it's stability and the general understanding of management. I never was denied any PTO I put in for and anytime I had an issue management always worked with me without trouble. Some stores felt more like family than others but everyone I worked with was generally a very genuine person which made working much less stressful.
Cons
As a Petcare associate I would say that their raises are very slim. After 10 years of working at the company I wasn't making very much more than when I had started, especially considering rising prices. I did eventually fight for a higher hourly rate, especially since people were being hired on making as much or more than me at the time. They did bump my pay up to a more respectable rate but you will probably have to speak up if at some point. In Petcare things can get very stressful with customers at times. Some people will not care about PetSmart's policies concerning pets and that can cause friction. Also, if any pets in the store get sick that is something you will generally have to deal with directly after they've seen the vet.
