During the pandemic it has been made apparent that PetSmart cares more about money than keeping their employees safe during the pandemic. I have tried my hardest to make people follow CDC guidelines, but my managers refuse to enforce anything whether it be for employees or customers unless I am there. All of the groomers don't have to wear masks, and every single employee crowds around each other. I have been chastised and have gained a reputation for being the only person who cares about it, and I have been withheld pay and hours for doing so. Bottom line: Petsmart cares more about customer money than for employee safety, as they routinely let un-masked customers in, without asking them to wear one, and they can and will make sure you are threatened termination for trying to keep everybody safe.

Corporate doesnt care if you are over-worked or burt out. No support from higher up at all. You are number just expected to hit numbers.

- Working with animals - Can make the animals living conditions better

Cons

- Overworked and underpaid - Always understaffed - Management treats employees like... well, dogs - Only 1 POC employee in the whole store - store policy requires the bare minimum, if that, of pet husbandry - Often Schedule outside of availability - Get mad at you for requesting off no matter how in advance it is - They either over schedule you, or give you very few hours.
