Pros
You get to teach dogs for a living. This is fun and rewarding while offering a good challenge. The customers are generally nice and the stores are not bad environments. In terms of possible retail positions, it's not bad at all.
Cons
In as few words as possible, a distinct lack of training. I was frustrated by the lack of training that I received to become a pet trainer. The company tends to emphasize selling training classes over actually teaching them. The quotas for selling classes reenforce this trend.
