      Good blue collar employer.

      Pros

      Air conditioned plant. 72F year round. Generally positive, friendly co-workers. Pay rates higher than average for the area. Annual raises till you max out after 4 years of service. Promotion and education opportunities. Cafeteria onsite.

      Cons

      Long service employees jealously gaurd there areas and prerogatives. Needed changes are slow to put in place due to all the personalities involved. Most day shift positions are held by senior employees, so it's a years long wait to go to a day shift position.

      Pros

      I can't really think of any good things to say about Peterbilt.

      Cons

      Safety is a joke. Maintenance department is worthless. Managers are relatively inexperienced in anything other than Peterbilt....no efficiency or ability to think 'outside the box'. Engineers are not involved with implementing efficient processes on production line- I saw no implementation of Six Sigma. Human Resources is a disaster and easily the most incompetent group of folks in the building.

      Pros

      A lot of opportunity to move around in the accounting department. Accountants thought of very highly within Peterbilt and the parent company, Paccar.

      Cons

      Systems are truly terrible. Department handles above average people very well. If you are truly great, or anything worse than above average you won't fit in and will be frustrated.
