Cons

Layoffs. They do them every 4 years. While the work is there it’s one of the highest paying jobs without a degree. But if you get caught in the layoff it’s sucks. They also have things where you can get on accidemic probation in a sense and not be re hireable if a layoff happens while on it. One big reason people get on it is being sick. Each day counts against you. I was on it and had 18 days left out of a year when layoff hits. Now I’m ineligible to work at any paccar company ever again which I do not think is right. I had no other prior marks against me. And I’m having my career stripped from me over a dumb technicality. They do not budge either. This go around an employee with 32 years of service had the same thing happen 5 days before he was supposed to be off. Now he’s banned like I am? If you can put up with the gamble it’s worth it. But there should be some law against that.
