Pros

Everyone makes the same amount per position. No favoritism can be played when it comes to raises. Raises happen at 6 mo, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years and topped out at 4 years. Typically at 3% raise around March/April each year. Christmas bonus of 3% of your base pay. Get approximately two weeks off each year for Christmas "break." 80 hours vacation, 80 hours PTO, 40 hours sick time per year. 120 hours PTO after 5 years and 160 PTO hours after ten years. Overtime is done by the day. Anything over 8 hours and less than 10 is time and a half. Anything over 10 hours is double time. All Saturday work is time and a half. All Sunday work is double time. All holidays is triple time. This is if youre on a M-F shift. Everything as far as department transfers and shift changes are done based on clock number or time of service.

Cons

HR department is a joke. Politics (every presidential election) and EPA changes (every two years) is a high stress time and when lay-offs happen. Its rare to hire in during a "sweet spot" and miss a lay-off. Chances are really high you WILL get laid off. They do call backs for a year before they bring in new hires. Everything as far as department transfers and shift changes are done based on clock number or time of service. This is listed as a pro but it is a consistent as well because the gravy jobs dont come open very often so someone putting stickers on the chassis is making the same dollar amount as someone hanging 40-110 pound brakes for 8 hours a day. It can be a tough pill to swallow until you put your time in and can move around the plant.
