Terrible Place to work

Pros

The ability to interact with new people and animals.

Cons

Almost everything is bad about this job. Management at my location treats me like I’m their child, she yells at me, talks down to me, and curses at me constantly, she and most of corporate are money hungry jerks who don’t care if you are sick, don’t care if you’re injured, don’t care if you don’t get a lunch. They don’t care about you they care about their money. For example. I have family buisness tomorrow, extremely important family buisness, i was off on the schedule, but my manager texts me and tells me I HAVE to come in just because her stomach is aching. I don’t agree with that not one bit, I’ve been throwing up and extremely lightheaded WHILE AT WORK and she did nothing about it but stay at home and tell me to tough it out. She uses the “I’m the manager” excuse to get away with her cruel and childish behavior. I Have a job interview this week, I’ll never come back to this company or even shop there. Hope you don’t either.

Good Place to Work

Pros

-Good work environment -Reasonable scheduling and hours -Benefits for fulltime employees including health insurance and 401k.

Cons

The health insurance offered looks cheaper than my private policy at a glance, but when you consider having higher deductibles, it wasn't worth me swapping my insurance. Ended up keeping my private which is $400 monthly but has very low deductibles and co-pays. Pay for groomers is nice but is highly variable depending on the speed you work. More dogs = more commissions obviously. Sometimes we get interrupted too much during the day with phone calls and people walking in with questions. This does slow us down a lot and causes us to book fewer appointments. Also, having paper records is slower. Implementing a computer system for the groomshop to organize customer info and book appointments would help.
