Pros

Some colleagues are talented and pleasant to work with. Various company sponsored events throughout the year.

Cons

Family-run company with many managers reaching where they are only out of seniority or connections to the CEO. Sales management particularly falls behind, dwelling on old-school business strategies and refusing to realize how business needs to strive in the 21st century. Lack of respect, support and training to employees. Salary and benefits far below industry standard.

Pros

This is a great place to start out if you need experience. The company has lots of different departments so depending on your background you can get lab experience, sales experience, human resources experience, or even management experience. There are also lots of company sponsored events, lots of incentives, and cash bonuses. I also earned several raises at performance reviews. Productivity is tracked so you have a clear sense of what you are doing and what daily goals are.

Cons

I have thought about this for a while and I can't name any serious downsides to working at this company. I could complain about how much I was paid or the hours I worked, but I will not. I will just say that after getting a job at Phenomenex, if you do not like something about the job, just do your best, and if you still don't like something, continue to work hard until you can find another job.

Pros

Exposure to many nationalities, A warehouse full of chromatography columns, Some good people. Good place to start a career.

Cons

Funky misleading salary and benefits(?) packages. Truly bad benefits. Extremely toxic air and scary petro plant next door that tends to catch fire. Can't keep a safety officer.
