Pros

Relatively easy work, employees are friendly and most are either working 2 jobs or in school. No degree required, they have both a morning and swing shift.

Cons

Low safety standards, use of hazardous chemicals will little protection. Family owned and operated. They practice nepotism, so unless your family or friends of the family you won’t make it very high up the ladder. They promise lots of different opportunities, such as training using various computer programs or certain certifications, but these are empty promises.

Pros

- Some of the managers are nice and helpful - Some of the employees are also nice and helpful - Great place to gain experience right out of college

Cons

- The compensation is absolutely horrible, and not competitive in the industry (Do your research before committing) - It's like high school, there's lots of back stabbing and gossip - very toxic environment - Largely composed of recent college graduates, or people who are too comfortable to leave - CEO doesn't care about the employees, therefore retention is horrible. They would rather have people quit then give them a raise. This is why when people get advanced degrees or gain some experience they leave the company. - Lots of turn over in all departments, which makes getting you job done difficult. There's always someone new who doesn't know what they are doing. - Many of the people in management position aren't qualified. They have either been there forever, or are related to the CEO. - The benefits are a joke when compared to other companies. - Hardly any room for growth and career advancement. - The CEO doesn't show his face, unless it's to yell about something he isn't happy with.

Pros

Gym, open door policy and coworkers.

Cons

Pay, ideology and tactics are comical. I remember hearing this much gossip as a child in high school before lunch (which makes up for the terrible "2257!!!!") which should make you wonder the caliber of professionalism and ethics. Unfortunately, none to be seen. This place is full of "micro cliques". My advice...don't trust anyone at this place no matter what the reason. There are some good people ( really great people!) but they also get caught up with the non-sense that protrudes through the hallways. If you want to work in a college environment full of recent graduates, then this is place for you! Well done Phenomenex...get them young and suck them dry! Good stepping stone for recent graduates. This company needs to grow up and really focus on employees. Phenomenex will lose good talent to other companies that see their true value.
