Pros

I felt there were a lot of possibilities while an employee at Pilgrim's. There were others that felt as I did in this regard. If everyone (salary & hourly) would learn to work together. Success would be limitless!!

Cons

Do not work for this company if you do not value your own opinion. There are a lot of so called, "clicks" there. As such, if your not willing to play ball with the powers that be, don't work there..

Pros

Many of my coworkers I counted as close friends. Additionally, my team relied well on one another and we often approached challenges as a unit.

Cons

This is the worst place I will ever work. The days are indefinitely long (11-13 hours) and the company engages in extensive wage theft. I was underpaid by $10,000, and bonus metrics were often set at unattainable, ludicrous levels. Although I worked a substantial number of weekends, I can count on one hand how many times I was compensated despite contractual obligation. Opportunities for women and minorities beyond supervision are limited. Managerial meetings were shockingly homogenous, even by poultry industry standards. I'm a highly analytical person and it took me all of 3.5 weeks to observe that I had reached the height of my advancement despite previously holding a manager's position and being promoted multiple times within my last company. My boss even openly sabotaged an opportunity with another company, because he felt it was unfair that he had worked in the industry for 10 years yet had never received the same opportunity. (He also was a C ag student in college and I graduated from a prestigious program with all As.)

Pros

A lot of learning opportunities if you are willing to work very hard to pursue them. Good bonuses. Culturally the company is decent, letting people leave early on Fridays, etc

Cons

You won't be rewarded for your contributions. If you have a chance for a promotion before you've been in your position for a year don't count on getting it. Fresh college grads in the ALT program are treated like royalty and will be paid better. Terrible vacation, 10 days at entry level and after two years bumped up to 12.
