Pros
- "Recognition" with meaningless company branded items, but there is still some recognition.
- Company store is nice, but anybody can shop there since it is open to the public.
- They offer training. They do not, as a rule, allow time during the work day for training. Most happens after shift, which increases your hours if you actually go. Alternatively, I have seen Superintendents have a lead go and take the training for 12+ people at the same time during shift.
- The Diversity here is truly amazing, with people coming from around the world, speaking all different languages. I have heard everything from English, to Spanish, Tagalog, Ukrainian, Russian, Swahili, and others. Sadly, many of these wonderful people do not also speak English, so sometimes translators are needed.
Cons
- Don't get hurt. They will do everything they can to deny your injury was work related. The company nurse is there to protect the company interests - not the workers.
- Training, including mandatory safety training is often faked.
- Frequent unreported OSHA and DEQ violations. The ground outside is often covered in maggots in the summer months.
- The horrid stench. If you have any sense of smell, this place is offensively smelly.
