Pros

You work on a very interesting problem with the ability to learn new technology.

Cons

Terrible management all round. The rot started from the top and percolated to highly inexperienced middle management. Leadership lacked courage and was ready to throw people under the bus. Pay was crap for the work with on call support that would sometimes happen at midnight.

Pros

Remote, flexible, and good pay. Also a great place to work on a modern tech stack. Never really had a problem taking PTO. A ton of talented engineers.

Cons

Feels like we are constantly putting effort into the wrong things, also seems like leadership has no idea what it takes to drive this ship from a technical perspective. The initiatives they are pushing + recent layoffs + hiring freezes + pauses on promotions and raises is leading to burnout. From a day to day basis there is a lot of noise, on-call is a nightmare and it's hard to estimate work accurately because of it all. Best word I can use describe the work culture is "reactive". Little growth and movement within company as an IC.

We love to hear that flexible remote work, good pay and PTO, and working with talented engineers are among the aspects that you enjoy at Pindrop. We are continuously looking to improve and enhance our employee experience. As a result of our employees’ feedback, we are currently revamping our on-call rotation process to ensure dedicated focus and prioritization to on-call responsibilities. Pros

Work life balance - there is absolutely no incentive to work hard and accomplish goals. There is no accountability and laziness is rampant, especially on the Management team. So you can literally coast, do very little, get paid and prepare for you next "real" job.

Cons

This might have been a good company 5+ years ago, but any of the leaders who were competent have moved on. Your career will stagnate here. The CEO hit his point of incompetence years ago, can't keep strong leaders and can't drive the company to success. No strategy lasts more than a few months.
