Pros
- Good work/life balance. I've read reviews of several other Bay Area tech companies and have seen that work/life balance is a common problem. Pinger is accommodating for parents of young kids and doesn't expect the engineers to be available during the weekends. - Interesting technical challenges such as: building new features, refactoring the code base w/ domain-driven design, and improving test coverage - Downtown San Jose location - Good health care - Manager provides feedback and helps with career growth (this is not common in my experience) - Transparency regarding quarterly revenue, total shares outstanding, etc.
Cons
- The relationship between management and individual contributors is not ideal. The individuals are somewhat handicapped due to limited freedom / trust. This may improve though. - Future of the company is not clear -- no immediate plans for an exit - Mixed levels of technical talent and motivation throughout engineering
