Pinkerton! Pinkerton! Pinkerton!

Pros

Even though “family” isn’t one of our core values, it definitely should be. Pinkerton strives to promote a familial bond between colleagues be it through company-wide announcements from the President that inevitably lead to someone chanting “Pinkerton! Pinkerton!” to something as simple as receiving a signed card on your birthday (sometimes it’s the little things)! Honestly, I love my job. It’s the best I’ve ever had, hands down-I don’t dread coming into work every day, and I look forward to seeing my coworkers. I know how my work fits into the bigger picture and helps us grow as a company. It truly is a great place to work, and I’m incredibly proud to be a Pinkerton.

Cons

Benefits could be a bit better.

Pros

This is a very large company, so be sure to read the reviews that apply to your area. As far as Los Angeles, goes, Pinkerton is great if you're a cop or have another job and are looking to fill in some days or nights. They only hire part-time employees (you can't go over 30 hours a week). Sometimes you won't get any hours, and they offer no benefits. If you have experience, the pay is $25 an hour. When I was there (in 2015), management was hands-off, which was nice. It's sort of the anti-GDBA. Eric, the West Coast supervisor, is a pretty solid dude. It's a very old company with over 160 years of history. The fact that Securitas now owns it hasn't really had any adverse effects.

Cons

If they had less part-timers, they could offer full-time employment and benefits to the people who have been there a while. I guess that's not in their business model.
