Pros

Young employees keeps this office light and fun. Everyone is really smart and a go-getter in their department, which makes for an equal balance of collaborative and motivationally-competitive atmosphere. Free beer in the office doesn't hurt, either. Really solid health benefits with flexibility for preferences. The training upon employment is stellar. I knew nothing about the finance industry when PitchBook brought me onto the sales team, and now I can talk shop with most industry pros if our paths crossed outside of PitchBook's walls. They foster development, as well, which is great for a younger person fresh out of college or grad school to lay the foundation for a career.

Cons

Within my position, my commission isn't 100% determined by me, which is really frustrating some months. Also, without any commission help, after taxes, I pull in about 28k, which is absolutely laughable--it's not a livable wage in Seattle. PitchBook has had--and continues to have--problems with recruiting and retaining talent, and I think a lot of it has to do with the salary situation. Furthermore, during the hiring process, I was promised advancement and/or mobility between departments after about 6-8 months. This isn't real; I was strung along for months regarding a promotion/pay raise, and I was definitely eligible. Communication between departments needs improvement, but that's typical within a younger company as it goes through growing pains.

Pros

I have been working at PitchBook's London office for 8 months now and so far it has been a great working experience. In my time at PitchBook I've had the opportunity to have exposure and learn about a very dynamic field. What I've enjoyed the most about my time here has been being an integral part of a great and ambitious team. As the London office continues to expand (adding more people and soon moving into a bigger space) there is a lot of room for growth for everyone already here and everyone joining. Really looking forward to what comes ahead for our European operations.

Cons

The start-up feeling of the office might not be the best fit for everyone as a high level of flexibility is needed until things eventually settle down. Being part of a growing company means there are always changes and people sometimes don't like that. That being said with changes and growth come a lot of opportunities.

Pros

I have been with PitchBook approaching a year and in that time I have had the opportunity to gain exposure to what is an extremely interesting industry as well as being part of an ambitious and growing team. PitchBook's UK operation has a start-up feel but is also closely tied to the offices in the US which I believe gives you the best of both worlds, both a great start-up environment but also the backing of the wider team in the US. There is a rapidly expanding team, new offices lined up and huge potential to grow with the company as it develops its UK operation.

Cons

The fact that the company at present is still developing in the UK may not suit everyone but having said this it gives you the chance to be part of the team which will help dictate the future success of the company.
