Unorganized, Hours too long for Full-time, hours too short for Part-Time.
Pros
High pay rate compared to others in the area (18.68/ hour start for dock, varying rates for drivers). Work hours remain constant week to week. Good benefits for full-time employees. Make it past your 90-day probationary period, then you have good job security.
Cons
Working on inbound is VERY fast paced (as a stripper or loader) but management treats you like gold. Working on outbound is a more relaxed environment, but management comes down on you a lot more. (I've worked both shifts, this is an opinion having been seen from both sides) With the new driver apprentice program starting, it's harder to become a driver from initially being a Dockworker. Management only fixes problems as they're noted by their superior(s). Causes bigger problems having waited until the next higher-up notices. Assignment of supervisors to a shift/ to certain duties is said to be very sloppy. 12-hour shifts regardless of shift, if full-time dock worker or full-time driver (and no overtime allowed for first 3 years' employment).
