Pros

Occasional free food, free tickets to games, office is inside PNC park, free parking.

Cons

Male dominated, big male egos, not much room for professional development or growth, low pay, no bonuses, sometimes not a great environment for women, lack of transparency, poor culture, for many the work life balance does not exist but you’ll have that in sports.

Pros

The Pirates will help in nearly any avenue for personal or professional development that one may desire. They will typically make every effort to cover or assist in the cost of the conference, class or event to make sure that the employee is reaping the benefits instead of worrying over the cost.

Cons

The Pirates will not often give specific recommendations on areas for improvement, keeping it open-ended. This allows a great deal of freedom for employees to seek advancement in areas that interest them, but doesn't offer targeted areas or courses that the Pirates would deem beneficial for an employee's advancement.
