Pros

Plethora is at a stage where the seeds that were sown early on are starting to bear fruit and move toward solid, scalable products. It's a highly creative environment engaging many different kinds of thinking during a given work week. Technical challenges straddle computational, mechanical, and material domains. How these are met requires broad strategic thinking from a production and business POV. Given the evolving nature of such a complex and nascent product, a proactive approach will be richly rewarded in that you will engage many different ways of trying to solve the problems at hand, which is extremely rewarding.

Cons

No organization is perfect. These are challenging problems and there are growing pains. That said, part of the fun is meeting the challenge and seeing hard work pay off.

Great team, starting to see the cracks.

Pros

Hard working and dedicated team working on a big world project. Even with constant change or failure we work hard to find each new solution.

Cons

Leadership is scrambling. We've missed about every deadline we've set as a company and simple initiatives take months to complete due to internal disagreements or disillusions.

Pros

The employees are outstanding: they top-notch at what they do, and also super interesting and have great attitudes. The atmosphere is relaxed, and we encourage each other to pursue and share our interests. The work-life balance is respected: we work reasonable hours and at the end of the day we all go home and don't read our emails overnight. The executives are honest and dependable people, and have earned my trust. In addition to the business generalities, this is an extremely interesting place to work. Rather than offering the latest web-driven convenience service, we are solving hard technical problems that will transform prototyping and manufacturing in industry. It is hard to convey the satisfaction of watching CAD and math go in, and real-life solid metal parts come out. By the way, solving such a wide range of problems would not be possible without employing an unusually diverse group of minds and backgrounds for a company of our size, and we love it this way.

Cons

We want to hire only the best people, both in terms of their skills and maintaining our great atmosphere, and keeping our standards high has required patience while we work on solving big problems. (In my opinion as an employee, the tradeoff has been worth it, because of the caliber of people I am surrounded by.)
