Challenging and interesting work with good people

Pros

You'll like working here if you seek both the benefits of a large and successful company (like having needed resources, good compensation, good health insurance, and checks which always clear) and those of smaller companies or start-ups (ability to drive change, QB initiatives, broader responsibilities, more interesting work). You'll also like working here because they pay 100% of the insurance premium, offer tons of free food/snacks/drinks, good equipment to work on, pay well, and offer unlimited PTO (which is actually for real here). Basically, no one is keeping track of exactly how many days you take off, or what you're doing every second of the day. It's up to you to manage yourself and make sure you're doing what's best for yourself, your family, and Pluralsight. Some people may not like that level of ambiguity, and it can be tricky sometimes, but on the whole I love the autonomy I have there, and I think you will too. Basically, success here is mostly about the agreements you make with you manager and how successful you are at executing on those agreements. Of course it's important that you stay positive, and that you're likeable--but I think those traits are essential everywhere. You may find the high rate of growth offers some challenges and frustrations, but I tend to prefer the challenges of growth to those of stagnation or decline.

Cons

Um, it's still a job? :-) and, uh, I'm still not up to the twenty word minimum. Hmmm I need more words. Yay, done!

Pros

Pluralsight has an amazing collective of people that define and keep a great culture. The free health benefits, flexible hours & comfortable working space also make a difference for me.

Cons

With the latest phase of growth there has been a tendency to hire outside vs exploring the talent within and promoting.

Pros

The culture is great. The benefits and salaries are competitive. I can introduce new ideas and own up to mistakes without having to deal with animosity from the team. I get the feeling that management truly cares about our happiness in our role.

Cons

The "don't be a jerk" rule is broken on occasion. Constant pair programming offers a unique challenge to developers who are accustomed to working on their own.
