Pros

A lot is expected of you, including regularly going above and beyond the job description. This gives ample opportunities to prove your worth to management. Plenty of very intelligent people around. Good amenities, nice place to be. Good support for well-conceived projects.

Cons

Sink or swim at all levels of the company. Formal opportunities for professional development are not terribly abundant, and don't seem to be a major concern of management. Penchant toward rigid, big-company mentality. Management has long memory for small imperfections-- really have to bring your game all the time.

Young environment open door policy - you can walk in into any director or VPs office and chat if need be there is a relationship between analyst and directors opportunity to cross- train great benefits Out of work events helps build relationships

Cons

- As an Analyst you will most likely work in the Stamford office which may be a downside for anyone wanting to work in the city.

Pros

Great benefits. Good and fair pay. Nice artwork. The office and bathrooms are cleaned almost hourly. I believe the air is filtered through 25 HEPA filters, and then once more through diamond dust before entering the trading floor area, as a breath of heavenly angel air.

Cons

Difficult personalities to deal with. No opportunity for advancement. The main focus is money (obviously) but took steps of cost-cutting way too far. Who wants to work for a hedge fund who's drastically cutting costs - costs that affect the livelihood of its employees in a material way, such as decreasing healthcare benefits and increasing prices in the cafeteria.
