Pros

nice offices, free fruit, competitive salary

Cons

From a firm culture perspective, and from the perspective of an administrative team member (i.e. not an attorney) specifically, the price of working at Polsinelli is too great. Disrespect toward staff was daily. Verbal insults were common. I personally experienced cruelty and ugliness. I personally witnessed poor treatment of other administrative team members. One attorney called a member of my team ignorant and unqualified to do the simplest of things (she was a dual-degreed professional with an incredible work ethic). Attorneys in leadership spoke poorly of other attorneys, some of whom were on their own teams. During a period of 5+ years, I witnessed smart, capable, thoughtful, genuine, and ethical people pick up their boxes of private items from their desks and leave. I saw, and after I left, learned about, women in leadership being shown the door. Not because they weren't good at their jobs, but because they weren't listened to or respected for their expertise. Conflict is nearly impossible to resolve and HR is not a safe place. Can’t stress that enough. Executive leadership treats team members in administrative roles as expendable.

Pros

Friendly people; satellite offices feel a bit like smaller firms within larger firm; attorneys able to work across offices; have recruited a number of prestigious attorneys

Cons

Compensation/bonus structure could be adjusted to incentivize productivity; rapid expansion through acquisitions of firms and attorneys detracts a bit from culture; not a lot of formal training for junior attorneys

Pros

Polsinelli takes stock in its employees and invests in their careers. The work life balance is great.

Cons

It is a national firm so prices are high, but still competitive for the same size firms in the area
