Pros

Collaborative atmosphere. Good work-life balance. Interesting projects. Company encourages innovation, sharing ideas to improve processes, and the work environment. Company gets lots of new equipment every year to add capabilities, and replace anything needed to make sure we see can what the chemistry is doing and solve problems fast. They have lots of customers and lots of projects, so there is great stability for capable chemists. Being a private company they can make decisions to support employees and customer needs without worrying about the stock.

Cons

Projects can be fast-paced, so that can be challenging if you aren't reacdy for it

Pros

Polysciences offered a competitive benefits option including 401K, accruable PTO, Med/Dent, flexible work schedules and when I was there 2 weeks starting vacation. In addition every year I worked there I received a raise and a bonus for my work. The managers at this company especially the floor managers are good people who want you to succeed. In addition, while I was there my coworkers were the type of people you would want to surround yourself with. Team players for the most part and guys who take pride in what they do. Their was no hoarding of knowledge by the old guard, the guys who were vets in the trade took an active role in looking out for me and making sure I was set up right. The ownership is a family, the Otts, good people. Specifically Andrew Ott was on site constantly, interacting with employees making sure people felt appreciated. Ownership has reinvested a lot back into the company to stay competitive and improve worker safety and efficiency. HR is a true resource for employees, they really make the effort to empower you to manage your own workplace details and benefits, but they always made themselves available to sit down and work with you if assistance was ever needed. I credit this company with providing me the financial stability to purchase a home, save money for school, learn and excel in a trade and establish connections with skilled individuals who value my contribution.

Cons

The company needed to work on creating a culture while I was there, however they knew this as well and while I was working there they did a lot to try and forge a workplace identity.
