Pros

Somewhat flexible schedule-able to make your own schedule with clients. Free trainings with CEUs.

Cons

Not enough parking at office. Travel time reimbursed at minimum wage vs gas mileage reimbursement. Building is old and basement where BHRS is located is moldy, staff are required to use their own phones for contacting clients, company has not switched over to electronic medical records, low compensation for the amount of paperwork and travel time between clients, management slow to respond to calls/emails, I used my own computer due to not enough computers in workroom and computers were old and slow.

Thank you for your feedback. We care about the professional development of our employees, so we believe it is important to offer them the opportunity to obtain free continuing education credits year-round. Employee compensation is based on the degree(s), experience and licensure that an employee has, and our Harrisburg office is centrally located downtown, to ensure access and transportation for all potential clients. We would also like to mention that all employees have access to copy centers and workstations. Each workstation is equipped with a computer, connection to a printer, and a telephone. The workstations are there for the employee’s convenience and to prevent unnecessary accrued costs at home. I am sorry that some of our efforts did not meet your expectations, but I am thankful that you took the time to share your opinion on here, so that as we continue to grow, we can look for ways to improve. Thanks again for your review.

Pros

The work was meaningful. Working with disadvantaged populations is rewarding, though stressful at times. Summers off if desired.

Cons

Poor training. Low pay, especially when factoring in paperwork requirements and down time between clients. Frequent no shows, absences, and cancellations. Difficulty getting parents involved in some cases, limiting the clinician's ability to foster change. Full-time clinicians work well over 40 hours a week.

Thank you for the review and acknowledging the meaningful work behind our School Based Outpatient Program. School Based Mental Health Outpatient Services has enabled many students the opportunity to receive mental health services, that otherwise were unattainable for one reason or another. Providing services within a school setting can be stressful, while providing services to students, navigating the educational environment and adhering to the requirements of the position. Over the past year, we have increased training hours, in an effort to meet the needs of our therapists. Therapists are also able to request additional on-going training through individual supervisions, with the addition of group supervision and phone consultations. We appreciate the feedback, and we wish you the best of luck on your future endeavors. Thank You
