Pros

The company overall has potential to be amazing...There are some amazing professionals within the company......but...

Cons

My entire supervision experience has been awful. Analysts who should not be supervising are overseeing cases that they are not competent enough to ethically oversee. My experience almost caused me to leave the field entirely. Analysts have no problem talking about others, being unprofessional. Will leave assistants with little to no direction and then get upset when they are contacted. I've waited MONTHS for direction/programming for clients. Lack of communication from supervisors, but then they show up and "flip out" due to their short comings. Any analyst that does not value the effort or opinions of their assistants are not any analysts I want to work with! Someone who will finagle data to cover up their lack of proper supervision is awful. There have been multiple nightmare situations, but for a student analyst, the thought of leaving to finish hours is HORRID. I sure hope someone catches on and starts taking a closer look on these cases with analysts who are not seasoned enough to do their job. I have been on multiple cases with a supervisor who is the reason why clients cancel services! This is not what I expected coming into this field! Not much to compare it with, but if I knew then what I know now...I would have went running for the hills! Promotions are granted due to lack of bodies and not because one is competent to do the job. Lack of business savvy. I work my butt off and to be treated the way a certain analyst treats myself and others is completely an ethic violation.

Pros

Flexibility with scheduling client sessions. Tuition reduction if you enroll in a masters program with a partner university. Quarterly bonus for those billing 20+ hours weekly as well as the ability to bill for drive time in between sessions. Training is provided to take the RBT exam. Increase in pay for becoming an RBT and Student Analysts. Continuous mentorship support especially for those pursuing BCBA status.

Cons

Billable hours can be unpredictable so pay amount can be inconsistent. Example someone gets sick, other therapies or families go on vacation. However there is always the option to do make up hours. You can only bill for drive time in between clients and max time is 1 hour. So if you have more than an hour window in between sessions you cannot bill. You can’t bill for the commute from home to your session or for the commute back home. The online portal used to bill and add progress notes has frequent tech issues but getting a little better.

Thank you for your feedback and I am so glad to hear that the flexibility, tuition benefits, and mentoring / support have been a benefit to you! I am also glad that you have been able to manage your schedule and make up your time with clients if you do experience a cancellation. I do see you are a current employee so please do let me know if you would ever like to have a chat about how we can make your experience at PBS the best it can possibly be!

Pros

Responsive staff. Flexibility in work hours. Benefits if full time. Parents are great.

Cons

Positions are unpredictable. You may have a client today but not tomorrow. Parents quit service overnight or insurance stops paying for services and you lose that client. Even if full time, your job might drop to part time at the blink of an eye. There are always open positions though, and it's easy to take another case, however, the hours might not be what you really want/need

Thank you for your feedback! I am glad that you have enjoyed the flexibility that working with us provides and that the staff on your regional team has been responsive ! We do know that client availability is a top concern/priority for our employees and we make sure to continually network with referral sources and our funding sources to ensure that we have cases available for our staff! I am glad that it has been easy for you to pick up other cases if a family does discontinue services, and please don't hesitate to reach out if I can ever be of assistance (athacker@teampbs.com).
