Pros

If you get a good BCBA and clients that don’t cancel it can be a really good position. The benefits are excellent (when they don’t take them) Their student analyst program is a really good way to earn fieldwork as an aspiring BCBA if you have a good supervisor.

Cons

PBS was very shady about taking away everyone’s heath insurance when the “system went down” and people weren’t able to work. They proceeded to let us “earn it back” Client cancellations can be really impactful financially since you don’t get paid if they cancel.

Pros

The job is flexible, where you can basically create your own schedule.

Cons

What they don't tell you is that if there aren't enough clients in your area or they're aren't clients looking for the same schedule as you, you'll have zero work. Clients also often cancel last minute, and although that might be nice, you won't always get paid out. So now your schedule is open, and it's too late to find something to fit into that time slot, and now you are out of pay. They say that you can sub for other people, but in my area the closest subs are often an hour away and for a 2 hour session I'm not driving 2 hours. Basically, the pay is not worth the amount of time you put into the job, and at the end of the day, you don't make enough money to pay your bills here. You can also get stuck with really lazy BCBAs, meaning that you're on your own.
